Sustainable and Social Initiatives 2025

 15 Jan 2025

In 2021, Craghoppers Expert was re-launched by its parent brand Craghoppers, who has a 60-year heritage in adventure-ready kit that is developed to be as socially responsible and sustainably made as possible. Craghoppers Expert continues this commitment by creating high-quality uniforms with outstanding sustainable credentials, which enables the brand’s customers to reflect these same values in their own interactions with their clients.

From a sustainability perspective, Craghoppers Expert strives to design gear with minimal environmental impact. Below are some of the key initiatives we have recently undertaken to advance this goal and push beyond it in 2024:

  • 214,000 customers chose to buy our PFC free waterproof jackets, and 156,000 customers bought our bestselling 100% recycled Corey and Miska fleeces
  • We have saved 8500 litres of water, through reviewing our dyeing and finishing processes. The equivalent of filling 3.4 Olympic size swimming pools (or having 115,000 average showers)
  • We used fleece off cuts from our factory to make over 850 neck gaiters to giveaway at Kendal Mountain Festival to keep our community warm and we also made 500 blankets for the children at the Savar School.
  • 131 of our customers got a free repair from Timpson so they can cherish their Craghoppers clothing for longer.

Ethically crafted gear is also a core part of Craghoppers Expert’s ethos. The brand actively participates in various social impact initiatives, ensuring its commitment to preserving the natural beauty of the outdoors extends beyond the products it creates.

  • We provided 47,684 nutritious meals for the school children at the Savar School in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
  • We helped 10 young underprivileged people achieve their dreams to travel to Galapagos and take part in conservation projects with #teamwetwo.
  • We supported 12 girls on Santa Cruz Island, Galapagos, to learn more about the wildlife and the environment they live in through science-based activities.
  • We kitted out over 400 people that work for the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund with our hardwearing outerwear, including those out in the field, protecting the Gorillas.
  • We planted over 14000 plugs of sphagnum moss on the peatlands of Kinder Scout for the National Trust Peatland Restoration Project.
  • Walking with the Wounded provided 188 hours of private therapy session for veterans, initiating their journey to address their mental health concerns, as a result of donations from Craghoppers Workwear range.
