PJH Takes on New £15k Fundraising Campaign for Macmillan

 10 Feb 2025

PJH is pleased to celebrate the on-going success of its continued partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, having set an ambitious new fundraising target of £15,000. Progress towards this total is already well underway fuelled by the incredible success of the previous campaign which saw PJH not only meet its original target of £10,000 but exceed it, thanks to the dedication and enthusiasm of its staff across the UK.

The PJH fundraising programme continues to thrive through a variety of creative and impactful initiatives led by colleagues up and down the country. Recent achievements include an exhilarating Coast to Coast cycle challenge completed by Nicola Price, Depot Manager at PJH’s Thirsk site, and John Travis, Solutions Delivery Manager at PJH’s Bolton site. The pair cycled 127 miles from Workington in the Lake District, to Sunderland in Tyne & Wear, raising a staggering £1000!

Meanwhile, Warehouse Supervisor at PJH’s Cannock site, Stephen Lloyd, took on the incredible Ultra White-Collar Boxing (UWCB) challenge in Wolverhampton. As a complete novice, Stephen completed 8 weeks of intensive training, and then took to the boxing ring, raising over £400!

In addition to these headline-grabbing activities, employees have hosted numerous engaging events, including bake sales, Fantasy Football leagues, Strictly Come Dancing sweepstakes, and festive celebrations such as Christmas jumper days. The annual Macmillan Coffee Morning has also played a significant role, with colleagues across all sites contributing home-baked treats, raising significant funds while strengthening the company’s sense of community.

Reflecting on the fundraising activities, Kim Cooper, PJH’s Head of Marketing & Product, shared her pride in the company’s efforts: “We’re thrilled with the success of our on-going partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support and the incredible response from our colleagues. Macmillan’s work is vital to so many individuals and families, and we’re honoured to contribute. With a target of £15,000, we’re eager to build on our achievements and make an even greater difference.”

Already, PJH is well on its way, having raised over 33% of this £15,000 goal. The company also promises to match every £1 raised by colleagues, up to a value of £10,000. With exciting new plans in the pipeline and a team as passionate as ever, PJH is confident it will surpass expectations and further support Macmillan in delivering life-changing services to those who need them most.
