Leading shower and bathroom products manufacturer Methven has adapted its popular WaterSaving calculator to the needs of hotel specifiers, offering insight as to how to achieve waterefficiency without compromising on performance for guests.
Methven’s original calculator was launched in November 2022 in response to higher living costs, energy bills and an increase in water-stressed areas, allowing installers and architects to help customers save water and money.
Now, it has been adapted to specifically suit the needs of the hotel industry, giving specifiers the opportunity to estimate savings by installing a Methven Shower head. It allows them to calculate savings based on number of rooms, occupancy rate and their current outgoing costs for gas and combined water and sewage charges.
The tool is free to use on Methven’s website, giving specifiers the opportunity to test different scenarios and products for their projects and quickly create estimates for water saving.
James Gibbard, Head of Sales at Methven, said: “Showers, taps and toilets consume around 30% to 40% of a typical hotel’s water.
It’s clear that more hotel guests than ever are keenly aware of environmental issues, which means that hotels need to balance the best bathroom experience while reassuring their customers that they are actively pursuing effective green policies.
“Guest rooms are a prime opportunity for water reductions that are both commercially viable and sustainable.
“A Methven water saving shower is one of the most effective ways of reducing the amount of water used in a hotel, saving 50% on water usage with no compromise on guest experience.”
Users of Methven’s Water Saving Calculator can also follow up with the company’s specification team for further information on how water savings can work in practice. This comes as Methven has also recently launched another online feature to support specifiers with product selection, technical specification sheets and more.
The Specifier Project Builder function is now live on the Methven website, which allows users to create a wish list, check pricing and request a quote for a range of products.
