Choosing the Right Soil Pipe System

 14 Oct 2024

A well-performing underground drainage system is essential for the disposal of wastewater, including surface, grey, and foul water.  Poor performance can impact the structural integrity of a building, trigger a build-up of contaminated water which may cause a potential hazard, and it could contribute to surface run-off and even floodwater.

Perhaps its most important function is to move wastewater away from the property to a sewage treatment facility or soak away system.  For this, builders require fit-for-purpose and robust products.  Plastic building products manufacturer, Kalsi Group understands this and offers two soil systems as part of its trusted Aquaflow Underground Drainage System.

However, choosing the right soil pipe system is crucial for functionality and endurance.  Be sure to pick the option most appropriate to the application…

Push-Fit Soil System

Perfect for fast installations and temporary set-ups.  The Kalsi Push-Fit Soil System is quick and easy to install.  Using seal and snap technology, installers can choose from rubber or silicone seals for a watertight connection with no tools needed!  The seal is double ribbed while a recess in the socket provides space for the rubber seal to locate as the pipe is inserted into the joint.  Available in 110mm or 160mm.

Solvent Soil System

Ideal for long-term reliability.  The Kalsi Solvent Soil System is a lightweight yet durable product which when fitted forms a strong and permanent bond.  The Aquaflow cement welds the pipes together creating durable, leak-proof joints.  This requires a careful fit, and installers must allow for drying time.  Available in black, grey and white in 110mm only.

Kalsi manufactures underground drainage products that provide flexibility and peace of mind as they are compatible with competitor products, meaning they can be slotted into an existing system to improve performance or installed as a complete system.

The Kalsi Aquaflow soil and waste system is manufactured to British Standards: BS EN 274-1:2002, BS 4514:1983, BS EN 1451:2000 and BS 5255:1989.

The Aquaflow Underground Drainage System is suitable for all applications and types of building, including domestic, commercial and industrial.

Kalsi Group offers its supply chain partners additional peace of mind with the testing and assessment of its products, securing British Board of Agrément (BBA) certification and Kitemarks across its ranges.

Kalsi products are available nationwide via a network of approved stockists.
